More than 4300 Palestinians killed since late the beginning of the Al Aqsa Intifada

The Palestinian Bureau of Statistics prepared and published a report that revealed that the number of Palestinian killed by the Israeli army since the beginning of the Al Aqsa Intifada, late September 2000 until the beginning of the current Summer Rains military offensive at the end of June arrived to 4248. The Bureau stated in its report that 4096 of the casualties are males, 252 females, and 847 (19.5%) are children.
The published report marks the sixth anniversary of the Al Aqsa Intifada. It showed that 1940 residents were killed in the occupied West Bank, among them 1831 males, and 109 females. In the Gaza Strip, 2372 were killed, among them 2231 males and 141 females. At least 786 Children were killed by Israeli military fire and shells. At least 9000 Palestinians, including children, were injured in the Gaza Strip, and 14200 were injured in the West bank since the beginning of the Intifada. According to the report, the bloodiest year was 2002 when Israel carried its “Defensive Shield” offensive and killed 1192 Palestinians. In 2004, Israeli troops killed 895 Palestinians.
The economical situation sharply collapsed since the beginning of the Intifada as a result of the continuous Israeli attacks, closures and the Annexation Wall. Israel shelled and bulldozed thousands of Palestinian houses and facilities, uprooted orchards and farmlands for settlement construction, expansion and the construction of the annexation wall and isolated hundreds of Dunams of farmlands and orchards behind the Wall.It is worth mentioning that these statistics do not include the number of Palestinians killed since Israel started its ongoing “Summer Rains” offensive.
Human Rights groups reported that at least 240 residents were killed during the Summer Rains offensive, among them at least 197 civilians, including at least 48 children, The Palestinian Center for Human Rights (PCHR) in Gaza reported.Since the beginning of the Intifada, 24768 houses were totally demolished, among them 15427 houses in Rafah, in the souther part of the Gaza Strip. 25211 were partially demolished, among them 13457 houses partially demolished in Rafah.
